When field archaeologist Robert MacIntosh is drawn back into the desert alongside his younger brother Daniel, a thoughtful therapist, and their colleague David, a professor of archaeology, the team expects another dig. Instead, they are pulled into a dangerous struggle with Kenneth Maddox, a rogue financier with his own designs, and Edward DelPorte, a charming but venomous collector unwilling to be outplayed.
